Frieda & Rebecca is rooted in compassion, self-care and self-realisation. During a period of great upheaval and transition due to the global pandemic, its founder, Eileen Rebecca, discovered profound joy and solace through creating beautiful objects with her children. In the early days of the first lockdown, after having lost her phone in her home for the umpteenth time, she tied a piece of beaded lanyard to her phone case. And just like that, she never lost her phone again. Charmed by how useful and fun this new “phone chain” was, Eileen Rebecca began making personalised versions for friends who began wearing and using them with delight. Once the lockdown eased, people started to take notice of the colourful phone chains worn by her friends. She began getting several requests for more sophisticated versions made of high-quality materials. Using her knowledge and appreciation of art and design from being raised in a family of artists and having worked at luxury companies such as Asprey, Sotheby’s, and Christie’s, Eileen Rebecca enthusiastically took on the challenge of creating high-end yet attainable designs. And thus, Frieda & Rebecca was born with its designs reflecting a newly discovered passion for creating meaningful and useful accessories with a luxurious and personal twist.

Frieda & Rebecca is first and foremost based on the possibilities that are created when women support other women. The name is inspired by her grandmother whom she is named after and her great grandmother whom her sister Arielle Frieda is named after. Without the support and encouragement of women like Arielle, a supremely talented illustrator, as well as other incredible women in her life, Frieda & Rebecca would never have been born. Its mission will always be tied to encouraging and nurturing a world where women support each other.
